Cuando tenía 12 años y veía un artista en la televisión, nunca se me ocurrió pensar que quizás en algún momento pudiese tenerlo cerca de mi o verlo en persona. A esa edad veía distintos programas de Disney Channel y admiraba muchísimo a las protagonistas, su pelo, su forma de hablar y de vestir, su forma de ser. Yo quería ser como ellas. Lo que yo en ese momento no sabía es que a la vuelta de 10 años escucharía en vivo y vería en persona a una de mis artistas favoritas, Miley Cyrus!
When I was 12 years old and I saw an artist on TV, it never occurred to me that maybe at some point I could have him/her near me or see him/her in person. At that age I used to watch different Disney Channel shows and I admired the main characters so much, their hair, the way they talked, the way they dressed, the way they were. I wanted to be like them. What I didn't know at that time was that in 10 years I would hear live and see in person one of my favorite artists, Miley Cyrus!
Los boletos para su concierto en Bogotá los compramos con 4 meses de anticipación, y en el transcurso de todas esas semanas me obsesioné aún más con ella, con su música e incluso volví a ver algunos episodios de Hannah Montana, hahahaha. Llegó el día del evento y como buena fanática decidí comprarme una bandana que decía "Miley Cyrus", y a penas entramos al Movistar Arena también quise comprar su Merch, para tener un recuerdo especial de ese concierto.
We bought the tickets for her concert in Bogota 4 months in advance, and in the course of all those weeks I became even more obsessed with her, her music and even re-watched some episodes of Hannah Montana, hahahaha. The day of the event arrived and as a good fan I decided to buy a bandana that said "Miley Cyrus", and as soon as we entered the Movistar Arena I also wanted to buy her Merch, to have a special souvenir of that concert.
La fecha especial fue justamente el lunes de la semana pasada. Llegamos con antelación al evento y la fila para entrar era grandísima, le daba la vuelta varias veces al lugar. Afuera vendían gorras, sueters, bandanas, pines, bebidas y comida. Estuvimos esperando cerca de una hora para poder pasar. Afuera se sentía toda la emoción de los fanáticos. Además, desde la fila se podían ver atuendos y maquillajes con muchísimo estilo y brillo, pancartas llenas de amor y un cartel en específico que decía "Si me desmayo no me saquen". Me dio risa, y a la vez me sentí identificada, escuchar en vivo a una mujer tan talentosa no es algo que ocurre todos los días, la emoción no tiene tamaño!
The special date was on Monday of last week. We arrived early to the event and the line to get in was huge, I went around the place several times. Outside they were selling hats, sweaters, bandanas, pins, drinks and food. We were waiting for about an hour to get in. Outside we could feel all the excitement of the fans. Also, from the line you could see stylish and shiny outfits and make-up, banners full of love and a specific sign that said "If I faint, don't take me out". It made me laugh, and at the same time I felt identified, to listen live to such a talented woman is not something that happens every day, the emotion is beyond size!
Una vez que entramos al Movistar Arena ubicamos nuestros asientos y de inmediato escuchamos la voz de la artista telonera que abriría el Show, La Ramona. Fue un gran descubrimiento conocerla allí, tiene canciones muy buenas :). Después que cantó hubo un break como por media hora, en el cual retiraron los instrumentos de La Ramona para ingresar al escenario los de Miley.
Once we entered the Movistar Arena we found our seats and immediately we heard the voice of the opening act that would open the show, La Ramona. It was a great discovery to meet her there, she has very good songs :). After she sang there was a break for about half an hour, in which they removed La Ramona's instruments to bring Miley's on stage.
Y finalmente... algunos minutos después de las 10:00 de la noche, se volvieron a apagar todas las luces, empezó el ritmo de Attention junto algunos videos y luces de colores, y finalmente escuché el comienzo de "We Can´t Stop" y con esto la llegada de Miley Cyrus al escenario, con todaa la energía que ya tantas veces había visto en sus otros shows en vivo, pero esta vez lo estaba viendo en persona. La emoción en ese momento fue indescriptible!! Inmediatamente luego de esta cantó WTF Do I Know y Plastic Hearts. En ese punto detuvo el concierto un momento para decir que estábamos muy arriba (en referencia a la altura de Bogotá) y que se estaba sintiendo muy mal pero quería continuar el concierto. Cantó Heart of Glass y luego tuvo que detenerse otra vez porque se sentía muy mal y con ganas de vomitar, dijo que haría el show por nosotros, porque sabía cuánto habíamos esperado por ella, pero le estaba costando muchísimo :'( Allí se sentó y cantó la versión más vulnerable de Never Be Me, y luego "Angels Like you", especialmente para el público de Bogotá porque todos sus fans hicieron que fuera canción #1.
And finally... a few minutes after 10:00 pm, all the lights went out again, the rhythm of Attention started along with some videos and colored lights, and finally I heard the beginning of "We Can't Stop" and with this the arrival of Miley Cyrus on stage, with all the energy that I had seen so many times in her other live shows, but this time I was seeing it in person. The emotion at that moment was indescribable! Immediately after this she sang WTF Do I Know and Plastic Hearts, at which point she stopped the concert for a moment to say that we were very high (in reference to the altitude of Bogota) and that she was feeling very bad but wanted to continue the concert. She sang Heart of Glass and then had to stop again because she was feeling very bad and wanted to vomit, she said she would do the show for us, because she knew how much we had waited for her, but it was costing her a lot :'( There she sat down and sang the most vulnerable version of Never Be Me, and then "Angels Like you", especially for the audience in Bogotá because all her fans made it song #1.
El público la acompañó en todas sus canciones. Miley dijo que su peor pesadilla sería sentirse mal en un concierto y tener que salir corriendo de ahí, así que prefería quedarse y cantar con todo el amor que le estaban brindando los fans en ese momento. Los más de 14.000 asistentes coreaban "Miley, Miley" y "We Love You, We Love You". Escuchar tanto apoyo de la gente es una cosa que me erizó la piel. Miley dijo que la siguiente canción tenía muchísimo sentido en ese momento por cómo se estaba sintiendo, y cantó The Climb. Esta es una canción especial para los que la hemos seguido desde el inicio y en todas sus etapas, es maravilloso ver a una artista crecer y evolucionar y al mismo tiempo estar tan conectada con sus inicios. Su voz en ese momento fue el centro de todo el espectáculo.
The audience accompanied her in all her songs. Miley said her worst nightmare would be feeling sick at a concert and having to run out of there, so she preferred to stay and sing with all the love the fans were giving her at that moment. The more than 14,000 in attendance chanted "Miley, Miley" and "We Love You, We Love You." Hearing so much support from the crowd is one thing that made my skin crawl. Miley said the next song made a ton of sense at that moment because of how she was feeling, and she sang The Climb. This is a special song for those of us who have followed her from the beginning and through all her stages, it's wonderful to see an artist grow and evolve and at the same time be so connected to her beginnings. Her voice at that moment was the center of the whole show.
Se recuperó un poco y dijo que el Show en Bogotá había sido su favorito, por demostrarse a sí misma que podía quedarse allí cantando, a pesar de lo mal que se sentía. Cantó otras canciones de la época de Hannah Montana, como 7 things y See you Again. Y de las más recientes, Nothing Breaks like a Hearth, jolene, Midnight Sky, Wrecking Ball y cerró con Party in the U.S.A.
She recovered a bit and said that the Bogota Show had been her favorite, for proving to herself that she could stay there singing, despite how bad she felt. She sang other songs from the Hannah Montana era, such as 7 things and See you Again. And from the more recent ones, Nothing Breaks like a Hearth, jolene, Midnight Sky, Wrecking Ball and she closed with Party in the U.S.A.
Fue un concierto donde Miley lo dio todo de sí, y el público la acompañó fielmente. Se sintió mal y lo dijo, fue honesta con sus fans, recuperó energía y lo entregó todo en el escenario, lloró y agradeció a su banda, habló en distintos momentos sobre lo que había aprendido de ese día y lo que significaba para ella estar allí. Para mí fue una noche inolvidable, su voz y su presencia es de otro planeta y me sentí muy afortunada de crecer con ella y poder escucharla en vivo.
It was a concert where Miley gave it her all, and the audience went along with her faithfully. She felt bad and she said so, she was honest with her fans, she recovered energy and gave it all on stage, she cried and thanked her band, she talked at different moments about what she had learned from that day and what it meant to her to be there. For me it was an unforgettable night, her voice and her presence is from another planet and I felt very lucky to grow up with her and to be able to hear her live.
