March was quite hot in Venezuela, there were days with no wind at all and a thermal sensation like being in a sauna.
On the other hand, almost all the sunsets were not to be missed, with a vibrant combination of colors that left me no choice but to photograph them to have them in my archives and of course, share them here.
Now, although the beauty of these sunsets is indisputable, I have heard that for example, when the sky has those intense orange tones, the reason is not so beautiful.
The colors of the sunset have to do with the dispersion of light, and in the case of the orange tones, they are also a consequence of the atmospheric conditions.
Lately we have received a lot of dust from the Sahara in the country, and also being in the dry season, unfortunately forest fires have increased (provoked or not), so the air quality has deteriorated. There is a lot of pollution and particles swarming around, and these selectively filter the light and intensify the orange and reddish tones.
Who would say that these negative factors are behind these spectacular skies?
El mes de marzo fue bastante caluroso en Venezuela, hubo días sin nada de viento y con una sensación térmica como estar en un sauna.
Por otro lado, casi todos los atardeceres fueron para no perdérselos, con una vibrante combinación de colores que no me dejaron otra opción sino fotografiarlos para tenerlos en mis archivos y claro, compartirlos acá.
Ahora bien, aunque la belleza de estos atardeceres es indiscutible, he escuchado que por ejemplo, cuando el cielo tiene esos tonos anaranjados intensos, la razón no es tan bonita.
Los colores del atardecer tienen que ver con la dispersión de la luz, y en el caso de los tonos naranja, son también consecuencia de las condiciones atmosféricas.
Últimamente hemos recibido mucho polvo del Sahara en el país, y también al estar en temporada de sequía, desgraciadamente han aumentado los incendios forestales (provocados o no), entonces la calidad del aire ha desmejorado. Hay mucha contaminación y partículas pululando por ahí, y éstas filtran selectivamente la luz e intensifican los tonos naranjas y rojizos.
¿Quién diría que esos factores negativos están detrás de estos cielos espectaculares?
