A couple of weeks ago, I went on a long hike, and during the first part of the trail, we walked along a riverbed. The water level was very low, and on both sides there were large trees with their roots exposed, it was quite a sight!
Hace un par de semanas hice una larga excursión, y en la primera parte de la ruta caminamos por el lecho de un río. El nivel del agua estaba muy bajo, y de lado y lado había grandes árboles con sus raíces expuestas, ¡me pareció un espectáculo visual!
These shapes seemed to move. The roots of these enormous living beings made me feel as if I were in a fantasy story.

I also thought about their vulnerability Does seeing their bases so exposed mean they're in danger? Maybe not, since they’ve been there for many years, but rising waters could sweep away the weakest ones.
También pensé en su vulnerabilidad. ¿Ver sus bases tan expuestas significa que están en peligro? Quizás no porque tienen muchos años allí, pero la subida de las aguas podría arrancar a los más débiles.
I hope that doesn't happen, and that this forest along the river continues to provide oxygen and interesting sights to those who venture there.
Espero que eso no suceda y que este bosque que acompaña al río siga ofreciendo oxígeno e interesantes vistas a quienes por allí se aventuren.
