One set a new speed record for the class it was in.

Check out the lead weights. This car by Sundowner didn't set a record, but got a top speed of 231.071 MPH.

Car 883 by Rick Harden set a new record of 269.325 MPH on the very last day of Bonneville Speed Week. The old record was 261.945 MPH. Congratulations to Rick Harden.

Carter's Family Flyer had a high speed of 234.954 MPH, but didn't set a speed record.

This car by Loyd McFaddin named "Slo Poke" went a whopping 76.621 MPH before it "Turned Out" due to a mechanical failure.
