So I've been playing SealM on ONE for a bit now, and I figured I'd write down what I think so far. I'll probably keep sharing updates as I get further into it, but here's my first impression.
What even is this game
SealM on ONE is a mobile RPG from PlayWith, and it's basically a modern remake of Seal Online, an old PC MMORPG from the early 2000s. If you never played the original, don't worry, you don't need to. It's a cartoon-style fantasy world full of goofy, cute monsters, and honestly the art style is one of the first things that pulled me in. Everything looks soft and colorful, not the usual dark, "serious" RPG look.
Getting started
Right at the start you pick a class. There's a bunch to choose from:
- Priest
- Knight
- Warrior
- Mage
- Jester
- Cook
- Hunter
I went with Warrior for my first run because I like being able to just jump into fights without overthinking it, but I'm tempted to make a second character and try Jester next since it looks a lot more acrobatic and different from the usual RPG classes.
Pets and mounts
One of my favorite parts so far is the pet system. You get a little sidekick that follows you around in battles, and later on you unlock "Guarders," which are basically your mounts for getting around the map faster. It's a small thing, but having a cute companion running next to you makes exploring feel a lot less lonely.
Combat
The combo system is actually pretty satisfying. Each class has its own unique combos, so fights don't feel copy-pasted between characters. It's not some hardcore action combat system, but it's got enough depth that I don't feel like I'm just tapping one button over and over.
The social side
There's a feature called Seal Talk where you can chat and meet other players, plus a couple system if you want to team up with someone special in-game. I haven't dived deep into this yet, but it's a nice touch that makes the world feel more alive instead of just being a solo grind.
Now here's the part that got my attention: earning crypto
This is the bit that really makes SealM on ONE stand out for me. The game is connected to something called the ONE ecosystem, and there's a whole progression system built around it called Shiltz.
Basically, as you play, you rack up "Shiltz Ranking" points just by doing normal stuff, dungeons, field boss fights, daily and seasonal missions. At the end of each season, players get rewarded with something called Shiltz Crystal based on where they land in the rankings. From there, you can convert your Shiltz Crystal into an on-chain token called SHILTZx.
So in short: you play the game like normal, and your effort can turn into actual crypto tokens. That's a pretty different feeling from a normal mobile RPG where all your grinding just stays inside the app. I haven't gone deep enough yet to say how the whole conversion process feels in practice, but I'm planning to try it out and will share what I find.
Where I'm at
Right now I'm still early game, picking up my class, getting used to the map, and slowly building up my pet collection. I'm having fun with it so far, it's relaxed, good-looking, and the crypto angle adds an extra layer of "why not keep playing" that a normal RPG doesn't really have.
I'll keep posting updates as I get further in, especially once I actually go through a full season and try converting some Shiltz Crystal into SHILTZx. If you're curious about trying it yourself, it's free to download on mobile.
More thoughts soon.
