I have always loved Art. I am not good at drawing art but I would like to be.

Will this monthly Art Subscription Box help me be a better Artist? Join the fun as I open my first Paletteful Pack Art supply Box.

After making the video above I started by swatching my new art supplies.

The art prompt for this month was pirate. It is a great prompt if you can draw well. I can...fake draw. Sketch? Move a pencil around and hope it turns into something? Yeah, I would go with that last one.

Once my sketch had all the fine details done, I had no idea what to do next. I grabbed one of the Fineline pens and outlined everything. I did make the desition to change the "X" into a skull and crossbones. I was feeling a lot of confidence about now.

Do you ever spill something, stop to stare to see if it will make a larger mess before you run to grab a towel to clean things up? Towel in hand you try to clean up your mess, realize all you are doing is making things worse? Yeah. That was what happened to my tree in this photo.

The ironic part about the tree is..... I can and have drawn really pretty trees. Let's move on shall we?

Never one for giving up I used my creative, stubborn, nonartist brain to see how I could salvage my beautiful painting.

Yes, even I am shaking my head and laughing after writing that sentence.

The idea came to draw a very large tropical flower to cover the mess I had made of the tree. One never knows, on an island somewhere in the world, there isn't a tree that looks just like the one you see below.

Wife: Honey, Do we have any glue?

Hubby: Wood glue?

Wife: No, Elmer's regular glue.

Hubby: Elmer's wood glue? We have that in the garage.

Wife: No, plain white glue. Wood glue will be too heavy.

Hubby: All I have is Elmer's wood glue in the garage and some Super Glue in the basement.

Wife: Where in the basement?

Hubby: On the wall.

Wife: The cord wall or the paint can wall?

Hubby: Yeah, that one.

Communication skills are key to 24 years of wedded bliss.

Taking scrap paper, I had from cutting out the flower, I made more leaves to cover the mess I had made of the tree. Superglue, found fifteen minutes later on the paint can wall, in hand I was ready to assemble my art piece.

Once everything was glued down I became overconfident again and decided to draw in a few fluffy clouds.

Will this box make me an Artist? Like a good one.....

It is very rare to come across a person with a natural talent for anything. Most of us have to practice to become better at anything. The more you practice the easier something becomes. The easier something becomes the more you can relax and enjoy what you are doing.

The supplies that came in the Paletteful Pack Art Box are great to use. They do not feel cheap. Never once could I blame what was happening to my Masterpiece on the items that came in this box.

What the box did do is make me want to play, experiment, draw, learn. Powerful emotions each on their own. Combined together I found myself relaxed, having fun, learning, and best of all laughing.

I love that each month you get a different mystery theme. I think it helps people like me keep you engaged without being bored. This box also starts you on a great supply of art products. The more variety you have around you the more likely you are to pick something up and use it.

A pencil is fun. A pen is fun. Treating yourself to new ways of making art is fun too. I really liked this box in case I didn't make that clear.

Help someone smile today. It can not hurt you.
