Fundition Campaign Update

A few months ago we kicked off a campaign called Steem Starter - an educational initiative to build awareness and devote curation resources towards Steem apps, dapps, and interfaces. As part of the campaign we had also planned to build a browser plugin to help answer newbie FAQs and to discover applications. Over the past few months we held over 75 public Steem app contests, designed new open-source infographics, an archive of custom icons, and compiled a large library of Steem terminology to help equip newcomers with the right tools to hit the ground running.

Progress and Setbacks

While the graphic design and extensive FAQ library had made huge strides, we had hit a number of roadblocks with plugin development. Around that same time, @steemonboarding arrived (like a knight in shining armor) on the scene. Since that time we've been speaking with @anomadsoul and @coruscate about how we can build awareness for their initiative considering much of the mission for Steem Starter resonated with their onboarding efforts.

Wrapping SteemStarter / Supporting @steemonboarding

At this stage in the Steem ecosystem it's important to consolidate efforts, not centralize but concentrate. There's an abundance of overlapping projects out there - so it's important to recompose our energies to build together, collectively, and efficiently.

This will be the last update for our Fundition campaign. We're in the process of handing @steemonboarding our Steem Starter media kit so that they can leverage it as SO develops. This includes a comprehensive Steem FAQ text library as well as icons, logos, diagrams, and infographics. We want to extend a warm thank you to the Fundition team for their amazing campaign support over the last few months. Without their support there's no way we could have had the time and resources to develop this campaign!

One more thing - stay tuned for another round of @sndbox + @steemonboarding Welcome Wednesday this week, where we host an open call to welcome newbies to the blockchain. While our Fundition campaign has come to a close, the many contests inspired from of it will continue!
