Doug began to look around the new room, as he looked up he could see the stars. They seemed different as if closer than he remember them to be. Still puzzled by all that had happened in such a short time, there were no chairs, no desks, nor computers. He started looking at the box that he was holding in his hand. He noticed there was a little object inside the box, the lid was opened, and his finger still hurt. Wondering what had happened. He turned the box over in his hand in hopes the item would fall out but it did not.
He decided to set the box down and start to try to figure out where he was at the moment. He began to look at the walls, they looked strange. They were not brick or wood that he was used to, they seemed more of a canvas.
Trying to get a better idea of where he was Doug moved to touch the wall his steps seemed off, he felt almost as if he was floating instead of walking. When he was finally able to touch the wall he realized it was more of a canvas, and firm, a little cold to the touch. He became puzzled, he had heard about this kind of canvas style wall in science journals, but he had never seen one being used.
The room Doug now found himself in had two ways he could go, so he decided he needed to explore the area and try to find his way back to a place he knew. As he walked, in the direction he intended to go, it seemed effortless, he was moving faster with less effort than normal. He felt at times as if he was not really on either foot as he walked forward. Up ahead he noticed there seemed to be a fork in the road, and so he just keep going.
The further he walked the more forks he found. He started to get lost, he was not sure if he was going to be able to get back to where he started. The room which he had left the box. As he turned the next corner he came across a room that appeared to be a kitchen, but all the cupboards where locked. And there was only a microwave, no oven. On the other side of the room there seemed to be a dining room area that had a large opening, as if it was a lookout point. But it was dark and spotted with what looked to be stars.
Doug rushed over to the end of the room. As he got closer he saw this was a window, he touched the glass and realized it was extremely cold. As he was looking through the glass, a tiny little blue object caught his attention. The object was moving in an arch. At the moment not being sure what the object was he decided he needed to figure out where he was in order for this to all make since.
This time as Doug walked down the hallway he realized he would need to keep track of where he was going as he might need to get back to the room he considered to be the kitchen. As he walked a bit further he saw a door with a window to the left. As he looked inside he thought it looked like a greenhouse. He tried the door and it was unlocked and opened up. He walked through the doorway, and this really was a greenhouse. He saw all kinds of plants but there were solid walls. Unlike the greenhouses he had been in before.
Now Doug was starting to wonder if he was on earth any longer.
To be continued.
