Cheating in marriage is unfaithfulness to one's spouse. It is a virus disturbing marriages today.

Marital bliss sometimes last for few years before a man or woman knows he/she has this irrational urge to get it outside.

Some even cheat on their spouse while dating. If you cheat while courting, perhaps you might feel you have no real pledge yet. But same can't be said when you are finally married to that person.

The major societal practice is one wife one husband. In case you feel you have high libido and there is a need to constantly have it, you need to discuss it with your spouse.

In many European countries, you can only marry a single man/woman. If you must have another man or woman, you can only do that after divorce.

If you are legally married, but caught in the web of extra marital affair, you stand a chance loosing everything. By everything i mean your respect, finance, property and your family.

In the web you find yourself, you are at the mercy of your spouse. Your forgiveness lies on what your spouse feels about what you did.

In most cases, it is a terrible experience. Your spouse would feel betrayed and really cheated on. It is a matter of how he/she can handle the situation psychologically. If your spouse is psychological strong and alerted, you might be lucky to face the society quickly.

But if your spouse is not, then you stand the chance of facing real challenge of continuing your life quickly.

The society, no matter who you are will react negatively to a cheating spouse. If you are just a citizen, you will face humiliation from your immediate community. But if you are a popular figure, your whole existence is at risk.

Your career would be in jeopardy. Many sponsors are likely to deny you. It might destroy all you have worked for.

So considering the gravity of this cheating, i want to believe a cheater is at the receiving end.

Now to the question, will you forgive a cheating husband/wife? Does the number of years you've been married matters? Does it matter if there are no children between you too? Or does the fact you both have male and female children would worsen the whole case for you to consider forgiveness as an option?

On what ground or excuse can such a cheating spouse be forgiven? By forgiveness, i mean staying together again as couple. Or you can forgive but never have anything to do with your spouse?

What scenario works for you? I would like to read your view on it.

Thanks for your time.
