God is the Supreme Being. The one who knows who we are even before we were born. He knows all our foot steps. He knows that which we are planning within us and He knows that which we intend to do in the next minute.
If God is all-powerful and all-knowing, why are mere mortals fighting for him? Perhaps you are wondering what i mean by 'fight'? It is common to see people defend anything about God. Religion is truly a conscious institution and one which we need to be very careful when dealing with it.
However, why do some people feel they were created to fight for God? Some people consider some words blasphemous and you can be dealt with critically if you are caught engaging in any of such words.
In reality, this God is a forgiving God. He is very merciful and you cannot know more than Him. If God can give chronic robber grace by giving him another chance to lead a good life, how much more mere mortal?
As a philosopher, I have been faced with many questions where people question me for questioning some ideas. It is not so simple to just ‘garbage in and garbage out’ when religious matters are being discussed. Some of these things are against logic and are hard to accept.
It is easy to say logic and spirituality are two different things. I agree with you but why do you think spirituality or faith is superior to logic or rational thinking?
The problem here is, I do not think faith is superior to logic and I wont question you for having that faith because it is your belief. But why do some people think logic is wrong and feel they must ‘help’ you to accept faith! The two are different things and cannot be the same. What we need to understand is none is superior to the other. In the process of trying to convince me to accept your own view, you indirectly condemn mine. If I come to you and ‘preach’ philosophy to you and tell you to accept it as the true way, what would you say?
If you will find it offensive, then there is a need to consider the other person’s feeling too. Preach the Gospel and move on. Not that you will see it as your duty to convert me into believing what you will not accept if I am to preach mine to you.
Let God fight His fight himself. He is a capable God and He knows more than all mortals. Don’t judge me for believing in what I think is the right way. Provided I don’t steal, kill, lie, engage in all sort of immoralities, I do not see why you should think I wont make heaven.
According to the Holy Book, He says He is wherever two or more people are. This perhaps, gave birth to the idea of congregation. Do not forget also that the same Book says we should pray in the corner of our house. Which means, praying alone is also good.
In reality, heaven is not sure for any mortal being; we are only trying our best. In the end, God might not ask for your religion, but your deeds while on earth. Live a good life and do not judge people for not seeing life from your own angle. You cannot save everybody!
