Our match against Lyon did not end as planned. We lose 1-2 to Lyon whose winning goal by Moussa Dembele ensure a massive 3-point for his club.
While some of our young players showed what they are made off, it is important to note that we also lose Lacazette in that match.
The forward was substituted just 12 minutes into the Emirates Cup fixture against Lyon.
We really need to be worried because leaving that early means he could not continue the game and had to leave. It could also mean that he was only trying to protect himself so as not to miss the early stages of the Premier League and had to leave
But Emery was asked about the situation surrounding Lacazette's early exit in the first half and he played it down as a mere precautionary measure. He however admitted that the doctor will examine him to know if there is any serious problem.
It appears he knocked his ankle in the match. This is a sprain ankle scenario but we cannot conclude about the situation for now until the doctor gives affirmative answer on the situation.
So for now, i will hopefully agree with Emery that it’s not something serious. To lose Lacazette very early in the season could be a big blow to Arsenal. But fingers are crossed.
