Well, I don't agree that it is very dangerous. I'm not overly concerned with maintaining a fixed percentage of governance and I don't think that's part of the Steem/Hive model the way it is for some coins with fixed supply. I view the leverage and associated potential for dilution/inflation as being small enough to not worry about at all, and I think the advantages of HBD outweigh the disadvantages.
You're entitled to make proposals and advocate for governance decisions that you support, certainly, but IMO it might be more productive to buy into a coin that is actually what you want, instead of buying into one and trying to make it what you want.
