RE: HBD Defenses: How HBD Is Different From UST
You should be cautious betting too much if any of your retirement on any sort of blockchain or blockchain asset or token. They're all experimental.

RE: HBD Defenses: How HBD Is Different From UST
Hive's haircut rule is much more robust than similar mechanisms on Terra. It was possible for Terra to print trillions of LUNA for people trying to convert UST. The same would not be possible with Hive.

RE: Hive Backed Dollar (HBD) outlasts another stablecoin
I'm thinking on a post about Terra and HBD. I don't know when it will be done.

RE: How Is The HBD Liquidity Doing? | Data On HBD Liquidity And Trading Volume
I'm not thrilled with the idea because: a) market making has risk, I'd rather not take risk with DHF funds (but someone else can make a proposal to do so and perhaps it gets approved); (b) market making

I think Upbit Indonesia allows non-Korean customers. But for HBD there is no point now, other options are likely better.

RE: One-Block Irreversibility for Delegated Proof-Of-Stake (DPOS)
Default minimum participation is 33% so if 35% disappear then it keeps going but if 70% disappear then most witnesses would stop producing. Meeting would have to be called and chain restarted (by resetting

Backup witnesses have to get voted in unless the higher voted witnesses are disabled (signing key set to null).

If witnesss don't vote then things just proceed as they do now (slower irreversibility, after a minute or so). Such witnesses should likely get voted out.

RE: We Need To Implement The 5% HBD Conversion Fee On HBD-HIVE
Can't do this with the DAO directly. The fees from conversions are taken right by the blockchain itself and burned. The code would need to changed via hard fork to store those fees somewhere.

I very much like this approach. I would add a soft/marketing benefit of this is that in crypto projects it is extremely important to avoid FUD vectors when possible (even if the FUD is out of context or

RE: We Need To Implement The 5% HBD Conversion Fee On HBD-HIVE
Only converting would incur the fee. If you buy from the market you're not paying a fee. Likewise selling. If you buy from the market at $1 you have essentially symmetric risk, since you can lose 5% if

There isn't any mechanism for that but I guess it's possible.

It deters gaming because currently if you can affect the price of HIVE during the 3.5 day period, even by only 1% or less, you can potentially make a profit on the conversion (beyond what you are

It would be pegged to a range of 95 to 1.05, which is not meaningfully worse than being pegged to a range of $1-$1.05 which is the current situation. There are other mechanisms that tend to push it toward

The only time HIVE->HBD conversion was used was when there was a huge pump of HBD up to 1.25 or so. Obviously it doesn't make sense to use when HBD is "only" a few cents over $1. However,

There is no feasible way to do this. Theoretically it could be sent to all staked vests, but it isn't clear whether this is better or not, opinions differ.

I'm not sure we need 10% spread, though the exact size of the spread is very debatable. But I would like to see fee on each side instead of the status quo of putting the spread at $1-$1.05 which is pretty

Intentionally bad I'm not concerned about here. I'm thinking of a "good" node that changes its votes but then the votes propagate differently. But if good nodes don't change their votes this

You would need smart contracts (then yes a proposal to do this could be fully automated), maybe we will have that, maybe not. There could also be multiple proposals run by different people doing the same

RE: One-Block Irreversibility for Delegated Proof-Of-Stake (DPOS)
I'm not sure it would be okay if multiple votes were cast. You can't be sure that every producer sees every vote. So half may see one vote as part of a 3/4 majority (therefore declaring one fork as immutable)
