RE: Almost 10 million HIVE withdrawn from the exchanges in just one week!
A 10% "debt" to equity ratio with "debt" that self-extinguishes in the case of distress is not something anyone should be concerned about. There are a number of issues conflated here,

RE: Are you converting Hive to HBD?
It is possible to hedge the risk. If you do it the simple way with no hedging then you do retain risk but the profit margin is so high at the moment you are unlikely to lose money. Of course it is still

RE: Are you converting Hive to HBD?
There are good reasons for the way it works. The peg will ultimately be fine, but it could take a little while, and then take a little while longer for it to stabilize longer term.

You are correct. Just be sure to understand the mechanism including the locked up collateral for 3.5 days.

RE: Are you converting Hive to HBD?
Correct this operation is not intended for day trading. The purpose is to obtain HBD to sell because you think that HBD will ultimately return to $1. If you are day trading, you don't really care about

RE: Are you converting Hive to HBD?
5% fee means you are essentially paying $1.05 (US) for the HBD (though subject to price fluctuation of HIVE over the next 3.5 days). If you were to buy it from the market right now you would pay about

RE: Are you converting Hive to HBD?
Correct. The stabilizer is making a nice profit for the DHF, and anyone can take advantage of the price over $1.05 by converting from HIVE.

RE: Are you converting Hive to HBD?
Yes this is accurate. The risk comes in from the price of HIVE changing. Can go either way.

RE: Stablecoin comparison: Terra LUNA's UST works like Hive's algorithmic stablecoin HBD, which is better?
I don't think 18% is that high. The 10% limit in Hive was inherited from Steem where it was put in place quickly early on without much consideration of what the limit should be. The Steem white paper (written

making a token inflationary to distribute coins to more people that leads to a network effect I agree that this is a valid theory. The problem is that the airdrop proposed here doesn't do that, it distributes

Content creators get 32.5% Yes I said content rewards pool, not content creators. Going back to the voters has the same effect with respect to the funding to sustain the blockchain (it doesn't go there).

Burns incentive people to hold too, because there is less selling to worry about reducing the value of your investment. Also, there is significant utility value in holding, for both RC and voting, as well

RE: Should We Reduce The Hive.Fund Holdings To Further Improve Decentralization Via A Long Term Airdrop To Hive Holders?
I'd be happy with at least $100 million plus ongoing inflation, but we can't count on future price, and future market cap may be very dependent on eventually ramping up spending. Also, don't forget that

RE: Should We Reduce The Hive.Fund Holdings To Further Improve Decentralization Via A Long Term Airdrop To Hive Holders?
For now that is true. At some point the DHF fund may simply be clearly extraneous. I don't think we are close to that, and I don't agree with the premise in the post that the amount in the DHF matters

Also, for long term holders with tax concerns, an airdrop is worse than burning if the burn results in increasing the price, because an airdrop is going to be taxable in many cases, and price increase

RE: Should We Reduce The Hive.Fund Holdings To Further Improve Decentralization Via A Long Term Airdrop To Hive Holders?
I'm not in favor until the fund is actually large. $5 million is not a large amount to be competitive as a blockchain project. At some point it may be clearly more than is needed, in which case it can
