What is Blockchain?

Blockchain technology was created to improve trust and security in business transactions. You can think of it as a decentralized digital ledger, where each transaction is recorded chronologically and publicly. A blockchain network consists of blocks, or a chain of data records connected together using cryptography. Each block contains a timestamp, link to previous block(s), and cryptographic proof of possession (digital signature).
