December is one month that most people take with so much importance. And these importance varies from one person to another. Some people see this month as important because Jesus was born in this month, some people see it as important because it's a month of reconnecting with families and friends who have not been seen for a very long time, while some see it as a month of showoff of their accomplishments.

I'm going to be concentrating this topic mainly on the last reason why some people take December very importantly; which is "a month that gives the avenue for the showoff of accomplishments"

All through the year, most of us go through the same routine everyday to make ends meet: Waking up very early in the morning to go to work and returning home all stressed out. Some of us who are financially disciplined gets to save a percentage of our income while some just spend on the go. Either way, it's all good; as long as the money keeps coming in.

Now, after all the hard earned savings during the year; most people can't control the urge to make other people think about their own failures by spending all their life earned savings on showing off. Some other people can't accept being 'terrorised' by other people's accomplishment so they have to follow the showoff trend even if it means getting their account empty or even borrowing clothes, gadgets and cars. There was even an instance of someone I know who went to the extent of borrowing a smart phone to use for showoff in the village. On his way to the village, the bus he took got robbed and the phone was stolen as well. At the end of the day, he was thrown into debt while trying to oppress other people.

Let's sit back and ask ourselves. What's the point of all these showoffs?  How much money does it add to one's account, how much SBD or steem would you gain from this trend? Obviously nothing. The problem lies in the fact that we care too much about what other people say or think about us when in reality, their shallow opinions do not count.

It's high time we started caring less about people's opinion and living our lives the right way. Working hard from January to November and squandering all the money in December is not worth it one bit.

So if you have any plan of following this showoff trend before this year runs out, this post is for you. If you also have plans to 'terrorise' others with your accomplishments this December , this post is for you.

As most of us believe, January is a very slow month and I don't think anyone would want to go through the 1st month of the New Year with an empty account. So let's stay focused and away from people who are ready to influence us into the wrong and widely accepted showoff trend.

I hope this helps and changes someone's mentality. Thanks for reading
