This command is a time out for your dog. You can either send him or her to a certain section of your house or to a bed or blanket. Send them to place when they are too hyper, when you are preparing food, when you are eating, and when people come over.
*Move quickly in the direction of the place and give the command "NAME, PLACE OR BED". (Ex: " Chaos,Bed")
- Keep repeating the command and guide your dog into the place with the leash.
*When your dog is in place, give him or her plenty of praise, "Good, Place" or "Good, Bed". Keep them there for longer periods of time.
*If they attempt to leave say, "No, place or bed", then put them back and continue to repeat the command several times.
NEVER USE THE COMMAND STAY BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE TO STAY IN ONE SPOT.
PRACTICE THIS COMMAND AT LEAST 25 TIMES A DAY, SO YOUR DOG EVENTUALLY GOES TO PLACE, ON THEIR OWN, WITHOUT THE LEASH.
*WHEN PEOPLE COME OVER, MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR UNTIL YOUR DOG IS ON PLACE AND STAYS THERE. WHEN YOU LET THE PEOPLE IN, TELL THEM TO TOTALLY IGNORE THE DOG FOR 1-3 MINUTES, THEN RELEASE, PRAISE, AND ALLOW THE DOG TO GREET THEM.
