Steem Monsters – Earn while you Churn

This is not something we generally speak about because it’s well, a big waste of time and a taboo conversation topic.

Sitting on the crapper is not a good use of our time and I for one find it annoying that we have to dispose of our body waste and not be productive while doing so.

But wait...., now we can now do something while the turds are dropping. Play Steem Monsters, the game that lets you earn while you churn!

With Level 4 Summoners, I tell myself I'm not getting my arse off this seat until I have 100 DEC Crystals earned.

That's is around 3 WINS at Steem Monsters, which equates to around a 16c - 20c vote if you trade them for votes using the @splinterlands trade option.

Honestly, isn’t that more productive than browsing Facebook, BBC News or Twitter?

I’m sure @aggroed and @yabapmatt did not envisage this idea for their game, and admittedly this is semi clickbait for the rest of what I’m going to say.

With the announcement of DEC Crystals, Orbs, Potions, and new cards I feel Steem Monsters has woken up again, and I have started taking a LOT more interest in it.

I'm playing more, and have recently invested more STEEM into levelling my Water Splinter Summoner to level 5.

Going from level 4 to 5 is not a cheap upgrade, but look at the number of common cards that gain new abilities at level 6!

Sea Genie, a card that many of us get lots of by doing the daily rewards is not a valuable card, but he gains Strengthen at level 6.

Sabre Shark is another underestimated card. He has Snipe and costs around 3c per card. At level 6 his power is 3 which is enough to take out many back lines with one snap of his jaws.

Costing only 3 to cast, he regularly gets in my Water splinter line up.

Lord Arianthus is a great tank and just sits there absorbing the blows. He's not cheap to upgrade to level 3 but I feel he is worth it.

I have replaced Sea Monster and Spineback Turtle with him unless the ‘Legendary cards OR Neutral cannot be used' ruling is in place.

Have you noticed a recent ruling of, ‘Monsters with Melee attack my not be used in battle’ in some games?

You can be sure your opponent is going to use a Lord Arianthus or Prismatic Energy if this is the case. So if everyone has the same tactic, how to win?

I still prefer Lord Arianthus though he has no attack potential. Make sure you use a tank healer if available and keep your ranged guys close to the back. If they become the tank then they are ineffective.

This is not the case with magic based creatures. Water Elemental is still great at the back due to his self-heal, and will not suffer from the magic reflects that both Lord Arianthus and Prismatic Energy have.

If you come across someone with larger summoners than you, chances are you are going to lose unless your opponent’s strategy is poor.

I tend not to auto-surrender if this is the case and watch that game trying to learn something.

Lastly, if you are not burning your DEC crystals for @steemmonsters votes then I have to ask why?

Maybe you are saving them all for orbs or potions, but I for one destroy around 700-900 DEC every time I post gaining me a vote of $1.40 to $2.

To do this go to steem-engine, and simply send your DEC’s to @splinterlands (NOT @steemmonsters) linking in your post to the memo field.

This is a masterstroke from the Steem Monsters team and gives me so much more incentive to play.

Once upon a time, I told @aggroed that his game was stagnant. This is no longer the case, and I'm playing more than I have ever done now. I will search him out at SF4 (if he's going) and take back my words, though they were pertinent at the time.

Steem Monsters is the best game on the STEEM blockchain, and I would wholeheartedly advise any gamers to give it a try. It costs $10 for a starter pack but that is enough to get you going and gains you a STEEM account to boot.
