NOTICE! Don't buy Electroneum. Just don't. Not yet anyways. (I did. Twice.) I just wanted to talk numbers. Cold, emotionless, hype-free numbers.
Today, I want to talk about one of the silliest arguments against Electroneum that I have heard, the tired old "But there are 21 billion ETN tokens going to be created."
On the face of it, that is a TON! Way too many for any reasonable person to want anything do with. But let me ask you: How many people have 1 full Bitcoin? Bitcoin is divisible into 100,000,000 pieces, where as each Electroneum is divisible by 100. When you start to think of it as individual pieces (which is weird, I know. Nobody thinks about the US Money supply as "How many pennies are in circulation?") you start to see a larger pile of coins in BTC.
Lets put this into perspective. If you were to divide the FULL supply of both BTC as Satoshi, and ETN as... whatever each 0.01 ETN is called (Electroshi?), you end up with numbers like this:
2100000000000000 <----Bitcoin
2100000000000 <----Electroneum
Now...which one has more opportunity to satisfy the greasy masses and dilute the price?
Granted, I might be missing something in the equation, but that is how I see it.
Also, don't buy ETN right now. It was wobbling around the 800 Satoshi mark, but it's been on a long slide down. Also, allegedly they are at least 3 weeks away from a completed release. They are working with Hackerone (or just stealing their logo and name and putting it on their website. Doubtful.) on fixing security issues.
Just don't be like me. Don't hold bags from the 700-800 Satoshi party.
