Although it is a very old anime, it is an anime that might challenge most of today's animes both in terms of art and entertainment. Rather than the production year for an anime, what really matters is the subject, and the way the subject is conveyed to the audience. Golden Boy, definitely manages to get full marks on this aspect.
Our protagonist is a young man named Kintaro Oe. He is a "superintelligent boy" who has left his university life early. The reason why he left the university is that he studied and finished all the books before completing his education, and therefore he aims to go out into the world and learn more information instead of staying at the university. He visits different places with his bicycle. Kintaro makes good friends and learns new things about life wherever he goes. He makes notes about the new information he learns in his notebook, which he always carries with him.
Even though Kintaro Oe is super-intelligent, he is literally a pervert. His extreme interest in women constitutes the main comedy element of the anime. During these 6 OVAs, Kintaro experiences himself by working on different jobs and has the opportunity to see and get to know different places (and of course ladies:)) but at the end of each episode, he leaves the place with his bike and sets sail on a new adventure.
If you want to laugh and relieve from the daily stess, I definitely recommend you to watch Golden Boy. The character is funny and the drawings are decent considering the production year.
