Hand Tool Tuesday — Rebate Plane

I needed to make a rabbet along the edge of a bunch of lengths of 1x1 cherry, so I used an old chisel and made a rebate, or rabbet plane.

I just followed the directions in this video by Paul Sellers.

I used scraps of maple and walnut. Here is the initial markup.

I even added a fence.
