I don't remember why I was driving so fast that morning.
Oh that's right, I was MAD!

I don't remember what I was MAD about.
But as I was coming up over the hill, right before you catch a little air and kind of become weightless for a moment, something almost hit my windshield, and I slowed way down just as I hit a totally unexpected patch of ice and snow and spun out pretty good.

I stayed on the road but had a quick terrifying flash in my mind of what would have been had I not slowed down.

As I drove on I started thinking about what it was that almost hit my windshield.
It looked like a large white bird, but we don't have large white birds around here.
We do have a lot of Crows

"That could not have been a Snowy Owl" I said to myself, " it must have been a Snowy Crow"

Instantly the words came to me-

Snowy Crow was a bad man

I followed that thought to the end and had my first book.

Snowy October
From Crow Morning Chronicals
