Creeping ever so slowing

it came into sight

looking around waiting

for the time to be right

Easing to the right

and then to the left

waiting in anticipation

for the theft

Eyes on it now

nothing in sight

ready to jump

no need for fright

Evasion manuevers

there is a rattle

hiding at the stairs

a bird about to tattle

Bird flies away

time to creep again

now in position

running and jumping to begin

In the air

to the feeder he rose

oh what a lovely prize

out all the seed goes

To the ground

where all the seed falls

the squirrel begins to eat

the winner of it all
