Here is a strange metallic succulent that has started absorbing the pot it was planted in. Given enough time it will encompass all metallic objects in the general vicinity. These are native to Jupiter's moon Amalthea.
On Jupiter's moon Metis there is a strange plant that is related to Earth's tumbleweed. The heavy winds on the moon blow these dense plants everywhere making it dangerous to land probes there. Too bad because a single drop extract from one of these things will extend human life by 100 years.
On Jupiter's moon Adrastea there is an armadillo creature with heavy duty armor. They mostly sit in this state curled up because meteor showers pelt the moon's surface constantly. Every 1,000 years they are able to uncurl up and begin their breeding season when the meteor storms are blocked by Thebe.
These are the eggs that the armadillos lay. They hatch every 2,000 years or so and are impervious to kinetic impacts from the meteor storms. The hatchlings have to use a form of atomic radiation to break free from the eggs.
The hatching process has just begun. There is radiation spilling everywhere as the baby armadillos break free from their eggs.
Once hatched they form into huge layered clusters in the caves deep under the moon's surface. Here they will absorb geothermic energy from the core of the moon to boost their growth.
The methane produced by the caves full of armadillos is starting to create an atmosphere for Adrastea. This will eventually provide a new environment for more lifeforms to evolve on. Each lifeform will have to be impervious to the meteor storms, but nature will find a way.
Humans have created a heavily armored probe to observe the lifeforms on Adrastea. Lets hope the trillion dollar budget spent on this thing will produce armor strong enough to withstand the meteor storms and the baby armadillos' radiation. We will have results beamed back to us in about 1,000 years. The government assures us this is not another boondoggle projects that funnels money to dark projects.
The probe found its way into a strange cave system with a new lifeform in it. These are perfectly smooth chrome spheres that parasitize the armor from armadillos. They found the outer shell of the Earth probe to be tasty and left only the smooth red interior. At least the cell phone signal inside is still intact to beam basic 30 character text messages back to earth is still intact. Lets hope these chrome lifeforms don't realize the probe came from Earth. They may want to evolve teleportation and come here to feed on various other things...
