For this #threetunetuesday by @ablaze I'll pick three songs from a heavy metal concert I went to way back in the day at the House of Blues in Chicago.
The opening act was Devildriver which I had never heard of because the singer was originally with the band Coal Chamber then just started this band. This was the first song they played and Ioved the buildup throughout the song. I became an instant fan and hey ended up doing the best performance of the night even though they were the opening act.
The next band was Children of Bodom the main band I really wanted to see. This song kissing the shadows was playing on the internet radio I used to listen to a lot and I loved the solos and speed of the song. It reminded me a bit of the hair metal from the 80s I heard when I was a kid. Sadly the singer is now dead I suppose that's what happens when you put the grim reaper on all your album covers. He was quite the character on the stage pulling all kind of antics getting quite drunk in the process which is probably what eventually killed him.
The headliner for this concert was In Flames. I heard their cloud connected song on the radio all the time. I generally like their sound and complexity of their songs. They have quite a few different styles going on in each album though they tend to be a bit simpler compared to the previous bands. They ended up playing quite a bit longer into the night and I ended up having to catch a 1am train back home then go to work the next day lol. It was worth and I had good balcony seats to see everything. Quite a few scrawny little guys got thrown out of the venue for moshing wrong, its always the short scrawny guys starting trouble in the mosh pit lol.
That's all for now, happy #threetunetuesday
