Here are a few fungi sightings from this week for #fungifriday by 
This first batch of ink caps were growing after it rained all night.
They love the mulch under the well kept trees in the park. These are edible but I wouldn't trust the chemicals in the mulch as mushrooms pick up pollutants from the environment easily.
This yellow mess is dog vomit slime mold. When its hot and humid this stuff will grow on dead leaves and mulch.
Later on it dries up into a brown crust.
Here is a waterlogged mushroom hiding under a dead tree. I'm not sure what kind it is bu the gnats were loving it.
This one looks to be an amanita of some kind. It could also be a meadow mushroom but the lack of pink gills points more to amanita.
Not a mushroom but a nice lotus flower blooming in a pond. Mushroom season tends to start when the first lotus flowers bloom.
I've been keeping an eye out on the dead cicadas for a rare fungi. This rare fungi is called Massospora cicadina and it turns them into sex-crazed zombies in order to spread more of the fungi. Birds that eat these infected cicadas get hallucinations. The fungus is just a white chalky powder that appears on the thorax. So far I haven't found any of this rare fungi but here is an interesting article about it.
