This is a nine track experiment of the different sounds that can be produced by the idiopan hand pan drum. I played each track on the fly with minimal editing to give a clear idea of what the idiopan sounds like acoustically. Sounds in this song range from clean mallet hits to sharp stick hits as well as some experimental muted rolls. I also produced some shaker sounds by filling the idiopan with some beads and stirring them with the mallets. Scraping the mallet stick along the edges can produce washboard rhythm sounds as well. Overall the idiopan is a dynamic meditative instrument with many sounds in it, as a bonus you can tune it differently with magnets on the tongues.
