Unfortunately, but my horrors became real and replacement of the chain resulted in necessity of replacing the whole cassette. Commuting to and from work was extremely uncomfortable, every time I pressed the pedals with more strength, the chain was skipping off chainring indents. One can compare it to the situation when trying to start the bike after changing gears while at halt - you know the gear will change in any second, at start you use more strength and the chain gets extra burdened, and you know all of this may cause a dangerous situation on road.
