The word HODL stands for Hold On to it for Dear Life.
I guess it was created by a completely drunk person who misspelled the word HOLD by misplacing the letter L.
So what does it mean to HODL a coin?
If your HODLING a Crypto Currency it indicates that you believe in the technology behind the coin and stay invested in it for long term gains irrespective of market fluctuations.For example I'm heavily invested in BTC and Steem.
BTC being the obvious choice lets get in detail about Steem coin.
1)Potential to beat social media giants like FB,Twitter or Insta .
2)Monetizing content without annoying ADVERTS.
3)A win-win situation between creators and moderators (token being equally distributed).
4)Active and generous community.
