Days ago, in another community to which I belong, specifically in Foodies Bee Hive, I shared with you a post in which I showed you a beautiful avocado and how I enjoy eating it in a very simple way, only with salt. Now, today I wanted to show you how I make the most of this delicious fruit, of which I have no trees on my backyard (they are very large trees), so every time we buy one at home, I don't waste any of it, and the seed It is very useful, since as I understand it contributes valuable elements for nutrition, so from time to time, I add a half teaspoon to the arepa dough, its flavor being almost neutral, perhaps reminiscent a bit of a walnut. On the other hand, it has vermifuge and bactericidal properties, which is why it can also be ingested in teas or cooked to make vaginal washes.
This was what was left of that avocado: The peels, with which Mr. Morrocoy and his tribe delighted, and the seed, which I process and then I use as a food supplement and as a natural medicine. You will see how easy it is to process it.
I kept this seed in the refrigerator for three days, so it can be seen darker, as it has oxidized when in contact with the air. The seed has a weight of 125 grams. Today I took it out of the refrigerator to process it and have it as a natural medicine. The first thing I do is separate a thin skin that has adhered to it; there I can discover that it was a viable seed, since the embryo of the plant was already germinating, as you can see in the photos.
I open the seed in half and proceed to finely grate it. As you can see, the seed is dark on the outside, but its interior is lighter, however, that color does not last long, because when in contact with the air, it oxidizes and darkens to an earthy orange tone.
I place the avocado seed zest in a small cauldron, and I roast it for about two hours, with the flame to minimum, stirring it with a wooden paddle. When it is fully roasted, it acquires a much darker color and also loses moisture, so now only 40 grams of the 125 grams that the seed weighed at the beginning remained. When it cools down, I proceed to pack it in a very clean glass jar and keep it in the cabinet, to later put it to use.
There is something important: All natural medicine should be consumed in moderation, not continuously, as it can be toxic. So I recommend using the avocado seed eventually.
Here I finish my publication today, I hope it has been pleasant for everyone, and remember that it is necessary to make use of all the resources that nature offers us, since they have the answers to cure or prevent many diseases. Greetings.
