I want to take this time to show you guys one of my new games I am playing on and off.
It is a lot of fun and a game genre that I just started to play.
Overload
I am not one for shoot em ups unless there is a special catch.
The catch to this game is the fact it is a game that is in zero gravity.
You can attack ships from all different directions.
You enter a room and you flip instantly the game has a new perspective.
This game is kinda like being on a roller coaster while you also feel like you are in a first person shooter.
Such a weird and thrilling mix.
Total freedom of control.
It is created by some of the original dudes who developed descent and it shows.
Descent was the first game like this it appeared on the technological screen in 1995.
The level design is pretty similar to the original descent with maps sprawling out in all directions.
The graphics are amazing and the sound design of weapons is pure.
The explosions are pretty as well.
I feel like I am a star wars fighter stuck in corridors and rooms and I cannot get out.
The music pumps really hardcore and gets you more into the game. It also sounds retro like something you would hear in the 1990s musically.
The rooms might be bigger than descents but for every bigger room there is more enemies and with more enemies expect hair raising turns to out maneuver them.
Well that is what I do atleast.
Attack from every direction
And be attacked
Or lose track of yourself because it is easy to do so in this game.
Your choice.
IDK why but I love to flip in this game.
The more I flip the better I feel.
I keep on wanting to play this game more and more to attack ships in different directions.
This game is only early access and it is really really polished.
More so than most other games.
Right now you have a tutorial level.
3 Level missions and 9 challenge levels.
These do not really feel unfinished like most other early access games.
They are really detailed and well made levels.
My favorite Challenge level Hive
The guide bot and map from descent is back as well
He's a little stupid though telling you to go to the exit door when you haven't completed a level or taking you to a corner of a map over and over. Forgive him you should be lucky you have him in this game. It can get lonely being a space pilot and you destroy everything over and over again and leaving nothing.
Green shots that bounce off walls
Towards the end you can see the death of my computer.
You can kill baddies and push their ship corpses too!
I have played a few games of this genre.
Sol contigency shut down development
Retrovirus which I pirated and supported later.
NeonXSZ which is an amazing game and has superior upgrades to all of the games I have seen.
Now since I played this I am playing the original descent for the first time.
I am not comparing descent to any of the above games nor overload.
Maybe I should do a video of me playing the original descent for steemit!
This has everything from those games
Ups it up
And makes it modern.
The final version of this game is scheduled to be released next year sometime and I am looking forward to it.
There is no multiplayer for the game at this current time but they will be adding multiplayer and custom level editing software.
I am very picky with what games I would play and since it is difficult replayable and super fun id give it a 9/10 for a early access game.
Down the line when I get a new CPU I want to get a vr headset and live in this game.
You can pick up the game right here
