I think we’re just at a very strange time in history. Things are changing faster than we’ve traditionally had to adapt, and while much old wisdom does hold true the applications still need to change to meet that demand and we’re generally pretty bad at that.

However, we progressively get better and I think we’re capable and f and due for a great awakening, or leap, or whatever, that will advance us radically in the coming decades, and those moments are when we shake off the old ways that no longer work and adapt the ones that do still work. I think it’s always happening to some degree but it’s nearing full swing right now.
