"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much."-Helen Keller
Is team building important in every organization and faculty members?
Yes, team building is important because it helps us build trust within the team, improves collaborative work, and enhances communication. Every year, our school conducts a team building event. There's a committee that searches for a place suitable for our activities. Everyone is excited as we plan, prepare, and choose the venue. We agreed to go to Bougainvillea Beach Park, which is located in Aguho, Daanbantayan, Cebu, in the far north of the Cebu province. We traveled for almost 2 hours to reach the place.
Shuttle trike their mode of transportation
At the main entrance, there is a shuttle trike to transport all the guests and visitors inside the beach area. There is a parking space within the vicinity; however, they do not allow us to bring our cars inside. There are no transportation fees as they will accommodate us for day use and overnight stay. Since our team building is only for one day, we only had a day in use. The place was so amazing, and I was mesmerized by its beauty; it was absolutely stunning.
The beach provided their guests with different amenities including a swimming pool, a playground, a kids zone, bars, a restaurant, a store, many cottages, rooms, and comfort rooms. It is safe for us to stay, and the place is good for gatherings. In the morning, we played many games in groups or individually, and the winners received a prize. Some players were yelling, performing their best to win the game. Teachers were like kids on this day; we allowed ourselves to enjoy. Every game, there will always be a winner and a loser, but whatever the result, everyone was willing to accept defeat. We really helped each other for our team to win, but not all the time would favor us. But that would be fine because we are not there to win all the time; we also know how to accept losses.
That's the spirit of being a teacher; we are very grateful to our school head for organizing our team-building, allowing us to strengthen our relationships with each other. We express care, love, and understanding to one another. It is evident that our team building was very successful. After our lunch, we strolled around the place. We went to the pool, the dragon fruit farm, and anywhere it surrounded. The sea water was not that clear on that day because the weather was windy. It was very cold to get into the water, so I did not attempt to swim in the sea because I felt cold and uncomfortable.
Beuaty reflects itself
We used our time to the fullest, wandering around and continuing our activities in the sand. We danced, we laughed, and we posed for every picture. The white sand invited us to walk like children. The place was surrounded by trees that gave us shade. There were many tables and chairs facing the water. Looking on the opposite side, you can see small islands and the wide seawater.
Fishes in the pond
How I wish to touch the fishes in the pond, they are so lovely. They wagged their tails when they saw someone looking at them. The colors of their scales are attractive to our eyes. I wanted to bring them back home, but that was only my wish.
We spent our afternoon playing fun games. Everyone participated and engaged in the games. Overall, it was fun, and we gained trust and collaboration.
If you plan for a team building, you can visit the place. The entrance fee is affordable, costing 150 pesos per person. But if you want to swim in the pool, you have to pay 300 pesos per person at the cashier. If you think it is costly, you can go to the seawater and swim because it is free and included in your entrance fee.
I think I am taking too long, so I wanted to end this now. May you continue to follow my blog. Until next time! 🥰
