The fancy coloring of his fish might get our attention and win our heart unlike other fishes. Or perhaps we are struck in awe by its choice of home among the stinging tentacles of a sea anemone.
Clown fish are not loath to photography just like movie actors. Most of the time divers and snorkelers expect clown fish to "pose" for a pictures, since they are not always far from home and are not shy.
In their seemingly risky lifestyle, what makes clown fish extraordinary. Habiting among poisonous tentacles could be compare to setting a home in a nest of serpent. What make this unusual partnership of clown fish and anemone possible and successful?

- like almost in many relationship, clown fish and anemones " give" and "take". It is not merely convenient for clown fish; it is important. Clown fish cannoy live in the wide alone without a host anemone. For the fact they are poor swimmers they can easily be eaten up by hungry predators without anemone's protection. Since the anemone serve's as home base and secure shelter threatened, the clown fish could reach ten years of age.
As safe nesting site and home, the eggs of the anemone are deposited at the base of host anemone, and the both parents keep watch over them carefully. The clown fish family can later be sen swimming around the same anemone.
WHAT BENEFIT DO ANEMONE GET FROM THE RELATIONSHIP?
- The clown fish chase away butterfly fish that feeds on anemone tentacles. They infact serve as marine bodyguards to anemone. Without resident clown fish, atleast one species of anemone cannot live. Within 24 hours, the anemone disappeared completelh when researchers remove the clown fish. Probably, it was consumed by butterfly fish.
The clown fish seem to also provide energy to their host. Clown fish excrete ammonium that helps spur grownth to their host anemone. When swimming around the tentacles, the clown fish help circulate oxygen rich water to their host anemone.

GOING WHERE OTHERS ARE AFRAID TO SWIM
The clown fish have mucus on their skin. It keeps them from getting stung. Protection is skin-deep. It seems that the host anemone considers the resident clown fish one of its own due to the chemical coating.
The clown fish goes through the process of adaptaion,some studies suggested when selection a new host. When the fish approaches an anemone, it has been observed that for the first time, it touches the anemone intermittently for some hours. Probably, the one and off touch will help the clown fish modify its protective chemical coating to conform to the new anemone's poison. Apparently the clown fish get stung a little during the process. When it is over, the two get along together fine.
