--{a minim, us a fluid scruple, and without an 'old' minim tube, extremely hard to measure due to the various viscosities of liquids. It was dropped completely from use in UK, in Weights and Measures Act of 1963. It was devolved as a measure in 1791 for a means to have equality of size of a 'drop'. ~ for the practical, a reminder :- 1 lb = 12 oz; 1 oz = 8 drachm; 1 drachm = 3 scruples, (1 fluid drachm = 1/8 fluid oz); (1 minim = 1 fluid scruple) 1 scruple = 20 grain.}
