Do you know the "Madama Butterfly", the famous opera written by Giacomo Puccini? Well, I admit it's one of my favorite and so it's the second time I painted something inspired by Cio Cio San, the main character of this opera.
It's a very touching story and the last time I watched it was a couple of years ago on the italian tv , live streaming from the Scala in Milan.
A couple of days ago I sold one of my paintings inspired by it and so yesterday (even if was the Easter day) I decided to work on a new painting about this opera. We are in lockdown and, after I cooked and ate and spent time in my backyard, I felt the need to work on a new artwork and so here I am:
It's an oil painting on 200 gsm paper in A4 size and now it's drying (I finish it just a couple of hours ago). I took some pics of the work in process too:
