You know these days are strange days for the most part of people in the world, but today I just want to share some good vibes with a good news: I just started a new collaboration with an indipendent publishing house called Barta Edizioni!
I worked for them about 1 year ago, when I was part of a collective project about the women artists of the past. For that project I worked on a short comic (just 8 pages long) and it was the first time I worked on a comic. I also think it was the last because my skills on comics was so poor (much respect for every professional comic worker!!! ^_^ ) and I had to work really hard to learn about it and to make something decent. I prefer to work on illustrations, because they are more close to the paintings I use to make.
So, a couple of days ago the publishing house contacted me after they watched some new artworks I shared on my social. When I share my artworks on social media in my mother language (Italian) I use to write something about the concept behind them or something about the sensations they remind me adn people like what I wrote, so the publishing house asked me to start a sort of weekly column using one of my illustration about houses and home with some words written by me. That weekly column will be (at the end of this difficult time) an illustrated book!
I'm so so happy!!!
This is the first illustration I painted to announce this collaboration on the social media of the publishing house:
The name of the weekly column will be "Le case in mente" that in italian means "The houses in mind" where the "houses" will be not just simple buildings, but also warm nests and other concepts.
I work on different illustrations for them, some oil paintings and some of my tiny house drawing in digital way on my own photos.
