“Silvertop……..looking closely at your photo, Douglas fir is a very good guess. The orange heartwood, strong contrast between the earlywood and latewood, and the bark all look quite consistent with Doug fir.
I estimated the rings along several radial directions from the apparent pith (the center) toward the bark.
My best estimate: about 85–95 years old
If I had to put one number on it, I’d say roughly 90 years old when it was cut!”

It looks like he has a good stack of quality Douglas Fir logs to mill after he gets it running!😊
Today I was hiking up the steep “High trail” and this lumber mill was the last stop for my green friend, before we started the climb!😅
