Heavy snow....hard rain... “What kind of Weather are you having Silvertop?😲
Last night was cold and the snow was getting deeper, today it was a mix of everything, and down lower the snow has melted off.
On today’s hike as we climbed higher with deeper snow, we reached a point where it was time to stop and put our crampons on!😅
These spiked chains fit on your hiking boots for added traction!
In very wet (snowball packing snow) snow will stick to the chains, you can lift up your boot and see hard packed ice, very frustrating Lol........but....
the traction is like night or day!😀
On the steep hills, that are now packing into ice, crampons are the safest way to hike!
Phoenix in the last photo is ready to hike as well, she has “Natural Crampons Lol!😀”
It looks like she has built herself a snow staircase, and is headed out to enjoy this beautiful weather!😎
