This bonsai has been with me for years now. It came from the other house in Sacramento. Somehow it made the move with me, and it’s still here, sitting quietly like it has all the time in the world.
The funny thing is, it clearly needs something... I just don’t know what. It’s in that weird middle zone where you look at it and think, “Okay, what’s going on with you.” More water? Less water? More sun? Less sun? I’ve tried a little bit of everything, and it just keeps giving me the same look.
It’s been through a lot of corners and windowsills. It was in the Music Room for the longest time. Sometimes I forget about it for a while, then suddenly I’m paying attention again, trying to make up for lost time. And still, it hangs on. There’s something kind of sweet about that. It’s patient in a way I’m not.
So for now, it stays where it is. A little reminder that not everything has a clear answer. Sometimes you just keep showing up, even if you’re not sure what the next step is.
