May 21 to 24 is a historic four-day procession of the Holy Eucharist through the Diocese of Sacramento, California.
The Holy Eucharist will process from the city of Vallejo to South Lake Tahoe, with stops in Vallejo, Benicia, Rio Vista, Clarksburg, West Sacramento, Sacramento, Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Placerville, and South Lake Tahoe.
The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is a major prelude to the National Eucharistic Congress1. It is a Catholic tradition where the Eucharist is carried through the streets, accompanied by the faithful2. The pilgrimage consists of four different routes beginning on opposite sides of the country and meeting in Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress July 17–21. Collectively the four National Eucharistic Pilgrimage routes will traverse 6,500 miles, 27 states, and 65 dioceses while carrying Christ in the Eucharist3.

The pilgrimage and the congress are part of the National Eucharistic Revival, a three-year initiative of the U.S. Catholic bishops that began in 2022 with the aim of deepening Catholics’ love for the Eucharist.
Today, our Eucharistic Lord was in Sacramento. I follow Him closely.
