The American Pacific Mint produced International Silver Trade Unit with various obverses (e.g., Morgan, Peace, Draped Bust, Eagle, Ships) as well as undated commemorative 1 Oz rounds with different designs.
Vintage American Pacific Mint Silver Trade Unit
These American Pacific Mint 1 oz..999 fine Silver Trade Units, which were produced in the early 1990s, are extremely collectible because they are hard to find and are no longer manufactured.
The main image on the obverse features a ship sailing in the waters. The reverse is blank of any inscriptions.
The scale, which is present on numerous trade unit silver rounds, is the main focus of the reverse. The words "ONE TROY OUNCE" are written above the scales, with ivy sprigs on either side. The mint mark "APM", and the purity of ".999 FINE SILVER" is listed just below the scales, followed by the phrase "SILVER TRADE UNIT".
Products that are regarded as legal tender and are often defined by legal tender states鈥攐nly these governments have the authority to imprint a face value on their coins鈥攁re known as bullion in the context of silver money. People who contest this reality typically end up in jail.
Coins frequently have distinct legal tender values and are marked with their legal tender face value. Silver rounds are mostly valued according to the quantity of precious metal they contain; they are not numbered. The face value, or numerical value, assigned to a particular currency unit is known as its denomination. Dollar bills in the US can be found in multiple denominations, including $1, $5, $10, $20, and so on.
These silver rounds have no monetary value because they are not regarded as legal money.
Make no mistake, the legal tender face values of the majority of silver coins are low and have very little to no correlation with the actual market worth of the silver bullion they contain.
These are the vintage rounds I have recently shown since October 23, 2023:
