The 1981 Hoffman & Hoffman Unicorn Round has a design that hits the sweet spot for me... simple, uncluttered, and naturally elegant. Just a clean piece of vintage silver art that carries itself well.
This particular round has a bit of toning, but even with that, the luster still comes through nicely. It’s a solid specimen and an easy addition to my stack of vintage art rounds. I don’t have confirmed mintage numbers for this piece, but it’s often marketed as “rare,” and there are enough stories floating around about the Unicorn rounds to keep collectors interested.
I’ve also come across another version of the Unicorn round that features the international universal trade unit on the reverse. That one is definitely on my radar, and I’ll be keeping an eye out for it.
Straightforward, classic, and a fun piece of Hoffman & Hoffman history in my stack.
I hope to see you again soon!
