I have shown you some of the silver gaming tokens in my stack. These are from Treasure Island, a Las Vegas show featuring a sinking ship and pirates by the Mirage Hotel.

The next tokens are precious (to me) because of the design. It is a token named Sam's Town.

Samuel A Boyd and his son co-founded Boyd Gaming, which would become one of the largest gambling and casino management corporations in the world. Several hotel-casinos branded Sam's Town Hotel and Gambling Hall, along with UNLV's Sam Boyd Stadium, are named in his honor1.

Sam’s Town- Prospector

I like the token very much.
After all, I am a "prospector" too, hehehe!

When I got this one, it didn't come with a capsule. It is toning around the edges. They are pretty large and unusual in size at 43MM.

This is the opposite site of the token. This is like a commemorative piece.

Samuel A. Boyd lived from April 23, 1910, to January 15, 1993. He was an American businessman, casino manager, and developer and is known to develop one of the biggest and most prosperous casino empires in the world. Sam Boyd is credited with introducing successful marketing, gambling, and entertainment innovations to the casino gambling industry.

Why is the design significant?

"The Silver State" is Nevada's official state nickname.
Silver mining in Nevada dates back to before it became a state. The Comstock Lode, close to modern-day Virginia City, was discovered by gold prospectors operating in western Nevada in 1858 to have significant silver ore reserves. Prospectors started to come to the region as word of the silver discovery spread. Silver mining is one of Nevada's most important industries, which helped the area's economy and the Union cause during the Civil War.

Silver mining continues to be extremely important to Nevada's economy even after statehood. Around 1874, the Comstock Lode started to decrease, but new mines started operating in other parts of the state. In Nevada, silver mining remained a significant business far into the twenty-first century.

The nickname "the Silver State" for Nevada gained renewed popularity in the 1980s. One of the most famous phrases for Nevada is the one that was used on state license plates. With this support, "the Silver State" overcame other nicknames to become Nevada's most well-known name.
