So a while back I picked up some scrap Sterling silver and sent it in to my refiner. Instead of asking for 1oz bars, I asked them for 1/2oz prospector rounds. I found out about them when they sent me one instead of sending me a small check for half an ounce of silver.
There were some delays due to employees getting sick which caused a backlog, but I got an unexpected package from FedEx last weekend.
It was a roll of 26 1/2oz PG&G Prospector rounds! For those wondering why these are such a big deal, let me explain. You can't find these anywhere. They're not for sale on their website. They're not available on ebay. There's pretty much no mention of them anywhere.
I'll probably hold onto these and see if I can get another batch of them before I sell some of these off to recoup expenses for the scrapped Sterling.
As a bonus, I looked in the end of the roll and they made a 1/4oz Prospector round for me!
