Kona is located on the Big Island of Hawaii's leeward side, and so the climate is generally great. Throughout the year, the temperatures are just comfortable, with sunny mornings, cloudy afternoons, and sometimes afternoon showers.

A few kilometers south of Kona International Airport, in the middle of North and South Kona districts, is this historic seaside village. It has developed into a vibrant town that is the Big Island's center for activities because of its location and excellent weather.

There are several farmers markets in and around Kona that you can visit. I visited the Kona Farmers Market in central Kona.

Kona coffee is known around the world and considered as one of the greatest gourmet coffees available. You should not visit the Big Island without trying some Kona Coffee.

A number of cruise ships stop in Kona. It is the island's tourist hub. Kona is the best location to do souvenir shopping while visiting the Big Island.p>
