Montserrat is a British Caribbean Overseas Territory. Montserrat is the Caribbean Community's sole non-fully sovereign full member. It is known as "The Emerald Isle of the Caribbean" because of its resemblance to coastal Ireland and because many of its residents are of Irish descent.
Montserrat is a British overseas colony with self-government. King Charles III, the island's head of state, is represented by an appointed Governor.
The coins are created and marketed by Scottsdale Mint and ae legal money in Montserrat, as the other member countries of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.
