Evening everyone…..
I mentioned yesterday that I had a very productive day. Today started off in a continuance of yesterday, unfortunately the powers that be decided to put a monkey wrench in my day.
At roughly 12:45 this afternoon, I was working in the shop with my roll up door open for the sunlight and the nice breeze. Well I heard an enormous crack like a huge limb has just snapped off a tree.
Well……
Thirty seconds later, the power went out in my shop and I felt the ground shake and a big bang outside. I only have one tree in my yard and if it fell my shop would most likely be destroyed. So it wasn’t the one in my yard.
I walked outside and down the street not more then fifty yards from my house in the woods tree had come down and took the power lines with it.
My street has a stretch of woods on both sides for nearly a quarter of a mile. It’s been like that since I was a kid and no one has ever tried to develop it. It’s packed with trees and one decided it was time to come down. No storm, no huge winds, just I’m done…..
This obviously put a damper on my day. The town responded with a road crew pretty quickly to remove the tree blocking the road. In just a few hours it was gone. But the power company still needed to fix the lines. They had two trucks there working and in a little over ninety minutes power was restored.
Unfortunately it’s too late now to set everything back up and get moving again.
Tomorrow is another day!!!
