Afternoon everyone…..

I hope that everyone had a better week than I did. Today is #sublimesunday, so here is the week wrap up for me.

The week started off with the drain pipe under the bathroom vanity at my moms house disintegrating and leaking all over the inside of the vanity and bathroom floor. It’s a 55 year old cast iron elbow going into the wall that needs to be replaced.

In order to repair it the entire vanity had to come out to get to the wall which needed to be opened to fix the pipe.

Well…..

That entailed removing the tile on the two side walls and the back wall. What a job it was getting it out. Of course I uncovered all sorts of other things once I started working.

The very next day we had a major pop up storm with wind gusts over 80 miles an hour. Well between the wind and the downpour of rain. Trees come down all over the place. My entire town was black (meaning no power). I knew we wouldn’t have power for a while so I went out looking for bags of ice. Two houses down from me a tree took out the power lines as well as a home owners chimney.

I had just purchased over $300 worth of meat from Costco a few days earlier and I wasn’t losing it. I drove 5 miles on the highway without seeing a working traffic light. It was a free for all out there. I finally found a gas station with power and got my ice.

We went just over 36 hours without power. Which obviously put me behind work wise.

The day after the power comes back on, we are getting the remnant of tropical storm Elsa. Thank god the winds weren’t bad, but we got hammered with rain. My area got over 5’ of rain in a two hour period. Roads were flooded everywhere.

So it’s been all yard clean up and work since.
