Afternoon everyone…..

As most of you know, I have started pouring silver. I haven’t had much time for it yet, but I’ll get it going.

One of the things about melting is that there are always little imperfections on pours that have to be dealt with. Usually nothing major just a little 1000 grit sandpaper and a strong polishing with a compound. But this causes you to lose a little bit of weight from the pour.

So to counter that little loss, most pourers use silver shot to account for that loss. If you are trying to pour a one ounce round, then you would add .10 ounces to the melt. Which requires using silver shot.

Well here it is….

This shot is from the Royal Canadian Mint through Monument Metals. It’s .9999 fine and each piece is perfect for what I need pouring silver.

While it’s not the most exciting post, it’s still ten ounces of silver.
